Privacy Policy
Mixology Club ("we", "us") runs mixologyclub.com and the native Mixology Club iOS and iPadOS app. This page explains what information we handle and what we do with it — in plain English.
What we collect
- Account details. If you create an account: your email address, a display name, and a password (stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider — we never see it).
- Standard server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records basic request logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
What we don't collect
- Mix Match ingredients never leave your device. The ingredient matcher runs locally; nothing you select is uploaded.
- 21 Bottle Challenge progress stays on your device (browser local storage). We can't see it.
- Favorites and private drafts stay on your device. They are not currently synced between devices.
- No third-party advertising trackers. We use Google Analytics 4 for aggregate website measurement, and we never sell or rent your data.
First-party product activity
The website may record limited first-party events such as recipe views, saves, shares, Mix Match use, and 21 Bottle Challenge progress to operate aggregate rankings and improve the service. These events are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. The native iOS app does not send these product-interaction events.
Google Analytics
The website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic and page usage. Google Analytics may process information such as pages visited, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device information, and first-party measurement identifiers. We do not send your account email, password, private recipes, favorites, or Mix Match ingredient selections to Google Analytics. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy.
Where your data lives
Account authentication is provided by Supabase. The website and public recipe catalog are served by our hosting provider. The native app downloads that catalog through encrypted HTTPS and keeps favorites locally. Recipe photography may be delivered by the Unsplash content network and product images by Amazon's content network — loading an image sends those networks a standard web request (including your IP), as with any internet service.
Cookies & local storage
The website uses browser local storage for your sign-in session, challenge progress, favorites, drafts, and preferences. Google Analytics may set first-party measurement cookies. The native app stores session credentials in the iOS Keychain and app preferences in its private device container. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Shop purchases
Our Shop links to products on Amazon. Purchases happen entirely on Amazon under Amazon's privacy policy — we never see your payment details.
Your choices
- You can browse the entire site without an account.
- You can remove favorites and private drafts from the device where you saved them.
- You can request account deletion from your profile or by emailing us.
Age
Mixology Club features alcohol-related content and is intended for visitors of legal drinking age (21+ in the US). It is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from minors.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
